The provider and default agent model go into ~/.openclaw/openclaw.json.

1. Open the settings file

2. Configure the connection

Check the example context/output settings against your selected provider in the catalog. Replace YOUR_API_KEY. Keep agents.defaults.models so the agent can select the model.

Check the connection

Save the file and restart the application. Select the configured CloseRouter model. If it is missing or the key is rejected, check the file location, API address and key.
